Minister, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, has again called on the electorate in the Territory to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid for continuity and sustainable development.
The Minister, who made the call last Friday at the “Say Women” event, organized by the FCT All Progressive Congress (APC) Women and Youth Movement, at International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja, also stressed the need for voters to vote in credible candidates of the APC vying for positions to achieve the objective.
Malam Bello said voting for APC from top to bottom (President to Councilors) in the upcoming election would ensure that President Buhari gets the necessary support to take Nigerians to the next level.
He warned party supporters to desist from any act that could jeopardize the election process in the FCT.
“I want you to note that apart from voting for President Buhari, you also need to vote in all other APC candidates vying for the different positions. This will ensure that the President gets to work with people of like minds and vision of the party. Anything short of that could derail the plan of the party to take Nigeria to the next level”, he said.
The Minister commended the FCT APC women leader, Mrs. Hailmary Aipoh, for putting together such an event that brought together chieftains of the party as part of the campaign plan to ensure victory for the party at the polls.
In her goodwill message to the occasion, wife of the President, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, called on the electorate in FCT to vote en-masse for President Buhari.
She urged Nigerians to rise up to expectation and ensure another four years for the President.
Represented by a party chieftain and former Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Mrs. Pauline Talen, the wife of the President, however, cautioned against any form of violence before, during, and after the elections.
She particularly called on women to make time on election day to ensure that they cast and guard their votes.
In her keynote address to the event, former senator representing the FCT, Senator Khairat Abdulrazak Gwadabe, spoke on the need for Nigerians to be patriotic wherever they find themselves.
She lauded the achievements of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration and urged all to support the 4+4 movement to enthrone the President and his team for another four-year tenure.
“There is nothing wrong with Nigeria that cannot be cured with what is right with Nigeria. And what is right with Nigeria is to support this government and take it to the next level. If you have not collected your PVC, go and do so and encourage others to do so”, she said.
Highlights of the event were goodwill messages from party chieftain and leaders, including Brigadier-General Buba Marwa (rtd), Muhammad Musa Yahaya, Hajiya Binta Muazu, Musa Salihu, as well as media presentations on the various achievements of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
