FCTA To Support Youths Realize Their Potentials

The FCT Administration considers youth as a vital component of the society, and will always support them realize their potentials.

The FCT Minister of State, Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani-Aliyu, gave this assurance during the inauguration of the elected Executives of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, FCT Chapter, at the conference room of the Cyprian Ekwensi Arts and Culture Complex, Area 10, Garki I District, Abuja.

Tijjani-Aliyu expressed optimism that the Council executives will prove their mettle by repositioning the Council for greater efficiency and greater impact in the atmosphere of peace, love and harmony, which will guarantee progress.

The Minister of State, who was represented at the occasion by the Secretary, FCT Social Development Secretariat, (SDS), Hajia Hadiza Mohammed Kabir, charged the new Executives to live up to expectations of the members.

Tijjani-Aliyu also charged the Executives to ensure transparency in the day to day running of the affairs of the Council and show good examples.

She said that the inauguration that should have been done immediately after the election of the executives in September 2022 was delayed, and advised that Council be repositioned for better results.

The Minister of State, thus, congratulated the executives and urged them to work hard for the utmost benefits of all the youths.

Her words: “I urged the Chairman of the Council, Comrade Abdullahi Suleiman, and his executives to use their good offices to carry along the entire youths in the FCT and become more relevant.”

Also speaking, Director, Youth Development Department in the SDS, Mrs. Asabe Umar Precious said, a workshop was also been organized by the Social Development Secretariat to address the youths as part of the FCTA’s support.

Responding, the Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Sulieman promised to live up to expectations and make a positive impact on the society by implementing sound policies and programmes that will benefit the teeming population of youths in the Federal Capital Territory.
