The new Director for the Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, Mallam Abubakar Adamu Evuti has taken over the mantle of leadership of the Board and charged members of staff to be honest in the discharge of their duties.
In a brief handing over/taking over ceremony, the new Director of the Board stressed the need for staff to be dedicated to their duty and warned against any act capable of tarnishing the image of the FCT Administration.
The Director called for the cooperation of staff and other stakeholders to ensure successful Hajj Operations.
He stressed the need for the staff to be dedicated to their duty and abide by Public Service Rules; adding that the FCT Administration would not condone any act of indiscipline.
Evuti expressed his commitment to add value to the management and welfare of pilgrims as well as provide first class services to the FCT contingent during 2023 Hajj exercise and beyond.
In his speech at the event, the former Director, Mallam Muhammad Nasiru Danmallam sought for forgiveness from those whom he might have wronged in the course of carrying out his official assignment as Director of the Board.
Danmallam appreciated the support and cooperation accorded him by the staff throughout his tenure and called on them to extend such gesture to the new leadership.
He called on the staff to be honest in dealing with pilgrims and discharge their duties with utmost responsibility and desist from any act capable of tarnishing the image of the government.
The Danmallam has been redeployed to the Abuja Environmental Protection Board.
Meanwhile, Evuti until his appointment was the Director of operations of the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
Evuti, who joins the services of the FCT Administration in 1990, hails from Lapai Local Government Area of Niger state.
He graduated from Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto with BA History in 1988, and a Masters degree in History and Diplomatic studies from University of Abuja .
