FCT Director Of Treasury Bows Out Of Service
……charges staff to rededicate themselves to service of fatherland.

The Director of Treasury Services Department of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Zanna Alhaji Hamza, has bowed out of service after meritoriously serving the Administration for 21 years and having attained the mandatory service years of 60.

Hamza, who clocked 60 years today, retired as the Director of Treasury Services Department in the Federal Capital Territory Administration.

Speaking at the brief ceremony held at the Conference Hall of the Economic Planning, Revenue Generation, and Public Private Partnership Secretariat, Monday in Abuja, Alhaji Adamu Wanki, the Director of Finance & Accounts, who takes over as the most senior Director in the Department, described the out-going Director as a trail blazer, who has brought sanity, professionalism to bear in the performance of officials functions of the Department.

Adamu said the history of the Department will be incomplete without the mention of Zanna Hamza, especially in his diligent yearly preparations of FCTA Financial Reports.

Adamu stated that the Department will greatly miss the services of the out-going Director most particularly, his dedicated service to the FCTA.

Adamu, therefore, urged the out-going Director not to hesitate to avail himself in advising the Department whenever his experiences and expertise are required.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Director of Admin and Finance, Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat, Alhaji Ishaq Sadiq, said Zanna was a thorough breed professional Accountant, who ensures that all financial records of the FCTA are well kept in line with the Public Accounting and Financial Regulations.

He further described Zanna Hamza as a gentleman per excellence.

In his response, Zanna Hamza recounted his experiences while working in the various SDAs of the FCTA; saying that he will miss the FCTA, which he described as one big family.

He thanked everyone for their cooperation and support while he held sway at the Treasury Department and asked them to extend the same support to his successor.

Hamza said he will always cherish the cordial relationship that existed between him and the staff of the Department.

The out-going Director sought for forgiveness from anyone he might have offended in the line of duty and asked anyone he might have offended either knowingly or unknowingly to forgive him as it wasn’t intentional.

Zanna Alhaji Hamza was born 60 years ago in Maiduguri, Borno State. He joined the services of the FCTA in 2002 as Assistant Chief Accountant and rose through the ranks to the pinnacle of his carrier, retiring as the Director of Treasuring Services.

Others who spoke at the occasion include Musa Lere of the Treasury Department, the FCT Director of Budget, Mrs. Nanre Emeke, FCT Director of Audit, Hajiya Zainab Aruwa, Director Admin and Finance, Transportation Secretariat, Mrs. Rehab Didam and Sani Amar, a Director with the Social Development Secretariat.
