SGF Commissions 130 Road Safety Operational Vehicles

• As FCT Perm Sec Lauds Tinubu’s Commitment to Highways Safety

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, has commissioned 130 newly acquired operational vehicles procured by Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to assist the Corps to ensure maximum safety of Nigerian highways.

The While speaking at the commissioning ceremony, in Abuja Friday, Senator George said the vehicle will enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Corps to navigate more terrains with a view to ensuring the safety of highways.

Senator Akume, who commended the Corps for its commitment to achieving its mandate, urged other Government Agencies to come up with innovative and cost-effective ways of improving the lives of Nigerians.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, explained that President Ahmed Bola Tinubu had already hit the grand running in the past few weeks, while assuring Nigerians of the President’s commitment to work very hard to improve the quality of their lives.

Also speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Mr. Olusade Adesola, commended President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for demonstrating enormous commitment to ensuring the safety and sanity of the country’s highways.

He remarked that it would be disheartening to see the reckless manner many motorists are flagrantly disregarding simple road rules.

The Permanent Secretary disclosed that as part of efforts by the FCT Administration to ensure strict compliance with road safety rules in the nation’s capital city, the Administration recently donated some operational vehicles and modern communication gadgets to security agencies operating in the FCT.

Earlier in his welcome address, FRSC Corps Marshal Mr. Dauda Biu commended President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for giving the Corps all the necessary support needed to operate effectively and efficiently.
